As always a fun read。 The end might have been the best part and you never know what's going to happen next。 Your predictions of it will change。 As always a fun read。 The end might have been the best part and you never know what's going to happen next。 Your predictions of it will change。 。。。more

Zombies in the snow! What more could we want? New monsters, new villain, same good ole humor and adventures。

The winter holidays have arrived in our gang’s zombie monster land。 While making the best of their first zombie Christmas together, they discover they’re not the only ones trying to survive, there’s a bigger threat coming from beyond and one of their own could become one of the infected。 A- (91%/Excellent)

I came back to this series after a couple of years with fond memories but now I realize how little kid this book is。 I give it three stars because it is a good book for what it is。 I just am no longer the target audience。 I am a little disappointed but it was nice to see this book series again。 would recommend it for people looking for a good book if they like a diary of a wimpy kid。 still a little bummed out though。

This time new villains, friendships get tested, and it is Christmas! It has been a while since I read the last book in the series。 Why? Well, because I got book 1-3 in hardcover and would like to continue the series like that。 But I have been checking and keeping an eye out for years and hardcovers are just too expensive。 The paperback is HALF of the price。 So after getting the Survival Guide during Christmas I decided to just say screw it to hardcovers and continue the series in paperback。 Way better for my monthly book-budget。I have to say that I love the book Jack over the Netflix Jack。 Haha, this is probably totally random, but I have tried watching the show recently and well… I don’t know, while he is obnoxious in the books and at times just goes too far (with him thinking this is just a big adventure/game while for his friends this means no more family and no more normalcy), in the Netflix series he is just TOO much and that is why I am happy I still got several books to read。 Back to book Jack。 In this one he makes some stupid mistakes, says some hilarious things, but I love that he could also rationalise why his friends are not always feeling the adventure。 You can see that he is growing up。 I love that。 His gift to June was so thoughtful and so kind and I was just cheering。In this book we see the kids trying to make the monsters happy with snow with hilarious results to go with it。 Haha, I can definitely understand the monsters though。 If I had never seen snow I would also panic in what the hell is happening。 I loved that the kids never gave up, they were dedicated to find something to make the monsters happy again。 And this all happens while some serious things were happening/going to happen。 It may at times feel a bit out of place。。 but it also fitted perfectly。 Haha, I am confusing, I know。 I loved seeing Christmas apocalypse-style and see how the kids tried to make a fun moment for not just them but the monsters as well。 Sometimes you need a moment to just enjoy life。We meet a new antagonist and I just don’t know how I feel about her。 I was mostly just frustrated with her for a few reasons。 I did like that she was geeky and loved comics and all that comes with that。There is tons of excitement and even some heartbreaking moments (that one with D。 just ripped my heart out) where I was wondering if things would end up right。 I know there are still books left, but seriously, at the moment I was just so much in the books that I didn’t think of that。 Not to mention。。 I have read enough books in which characters die or disappear, so who knows what would be next? There are battles, monsters, friendship, and more。 I just couldn’t stop reading。 Each page, each new illustration grabbed me。My heart broke over that a decision had to be made。 They have received a transmission from New York… but will they all go? Throughout the book we see that decisions need to be made and I was definitely holding my heart over what decision that would be! I was hoping this wouldn’t mean the end of our group。 Now that I know the decisions, and what has been said, I am very curious about the next books and what will happen in those。All in all, WOW, what a book。 What an amazing continuation of a series。 I cannot wait to get the next book in the series。 We are getting closer to the end and I wonder how the author will end it。 I would highly recommend this book to all!Review first posted at https://twirlingbookprincess。com/ 。。。more

Technically, this fourth volume is a Christmas episode, but aside from introducing the monsters to secular aspects of the holiday like gift-giving and holiday movies, Christmas isn't very present。 Instead, this installment introduces readers to two major antagonists and presents some of the highest stakes yet in the franchise, all while delivering its pop culture references, fast-paced action sequences, and spirited illustrations。3。5/5 Technically, this fourth volume is a Christmas episode, but aside from introducing the monsters to secular aspects of the holiday like gift-giving and holiday movies, Christmas isn't very present。 Instead, this installment introduces readers to two major antagonists and presents some of the highest stakes yet in the franchise, all while delivering its pop culture references, fast-paced action sequences, and spirited illustrations。3。5/5 。。。more

I thought this was a really good book because it had action and humor。 I also liked this book because it was very intriguing。 And finally i liked it because it was non stop action, once one thing happened something else would happen with in the next 5 minutes。 My favorite character was jack because he was the main character and narated the storie。

Aimen

Hilarious! I loved the facial expressions, and the little pictures。 I read it with my little brother so he could practice his reading and he flew through it! It was super funny, and the character personalitites show up really well!

These books keep getting smarter and sillier! Loved the Christmas theme and my kids are hooked on the story where the stakes keep getting higher, even though Jack doesn't seem to notice。 These books keep getting smarter and sillier! This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 It was an All right book。 I liked when Dirk got Bitten by a Zombie because I did not care much for him。 and I liked when he ranked the Eye Ball Drink at the end so he would not be a Zombie。

Jack, June, Dirk, and Quint are still stuck in Wakefield - a giant snowstorm derailed the plans they had when we last saw them, which was to go on to New York where a group of surviving humans has been broadcasting from the Statue of Liberty。 Now that they know they aren't the only survivors, Quint and June are quite keen to get back to their folks。 Dirk has been strangely silent, and Jack simply has no one to get back to, orphan that he was pre-apocalypse。 At the moment, though, no one is going Jack, June, Dirk, and Quint are still stuck in Wakefield - a giant snowstorm derailed the plans they had when we last saw them, which was to go on to New York where a group of surviving humans has been broadcasting from the Statue of Liberty。 Now that they know they aren't the only survivors, Quint and June are quite keen to get back to their folks。 Dirk has been strangely silent, and Jack simply has no one to get back to, orphan that he was pre-apocalypse。 At the moment, though, no one is going anywhere because of said snowstorm。 As it turns out, another problem is that all the monsters are deathly afraid of this winter wonderland。 The kids decide to show them snow is not scary, but every effort ends in one of them getting hurt, so that isn't going well。 Then Jack and June decide the answer is Christmas - they will show them the wonder of Christmas, and the monsters will love winter forever。 Of course, the best laid plans。。。 Soon the kids find out another surviving human is closer than they had thought。 For example, they discover a human in Wakefield itself。 Evie turns out to be one of the bad guys, though - another Cosmic servant trying to unleash even more terrible monsters on Earth。 Another battle seems ripe to unfold, as the kids know they have to stop her from making things worse。Action and adventure from a kid's point of view is a whole lot of fun。 Our heroes are game for anything, and they have a solid understanding of right vs。 wrong。 Our villains are very villainous, and in each book this leads to some intense fight scenes and creative solutions。 This series continues to be well-written with exciting graphics, the stories have plenty of heart-felt moments while still moving the action forward, pacing is steady, and in this instance there were some tense scenes where I really wasn't sure which way the story would go。 。。。more
